Earth Wolf

I felt I wasn't applying myself at all in my art. Everything was getting too simple. Like eating a really good cake. So I tried a bit harder on this one. I still believe I could do so much better if I just put my mind to it (which is like telling a pig to fly, or trying to not eat a really good cake) The inspiration came to me while I was still on vacation. We went to a large garden with so many plants I had never seen before. It was kind of like a really good cake if you think about it. Most of which provided a stable ground for my inspiration, y'knaa? (Dang I sound like a hard-core artist, is that a good thing??) I wanted to draw a wolf that looked like it had been on Earth so long it looked like Earth itself. It didn't turn out how I wanted so I plan on re-drawing it with much more of an Earthy feel. My favorite part to draw (and color!) was the wings. I've got to say it was the wings. Rose wings. What says "I'm an Earth spirit thing-y" than rose wings?? I've got to say, colorin' the paws was a pain in the tushie-area. COINT'ly. The thorns are a nice touch, though! I’ve got a question. How’d the eyes turn out? I thought they looked very glassy, yet so powerful. I want an opinion NOW! It took a lot of time, kind of like making a good cake. I wonder what I might do next… I have so much fun with elemental pictures!
